Climate and best time to travel

Normandy's climate is warm with a fair amount of annual rainfall. The average daytime high during the summer months of May to August is 27°C, while the weather during the winter months from November to March is relatively mild. August is the hottest month of the year and January is generally the coldest. The weather is extremely changeable, with four seasons frequently making a showing in one day. As the main attractions of the region are historical and militaristic Normandy can be considered a year-round destination for tourists. For those who want to avoid the crowds May (spring) is a good time to visit Normandy, as is September (autumn).

Money

There are ATMs everywhere; credit cards can be used in most places. France's currency is the Euro.

If you know in advance which places you're going to visit, you can find out online if and where there are ATM's where you can use your MasterCard and Cirrus or Visa to withdraw money.
